Hello, I’m Lucy.

I'm a freelance journalist, brand consultant and copywriter, specialising in beauty. I have over nine years' experience working across print and digital platforms on a mixture of national weekly, monthly and bi-monthly magazines. I've produced numerous still life shoots, written first person essays and viral features, bagged exclusives with Glossier, Maybelline and Byredo amongst others, investigated the gen-z lip filler obsession, explored the contentious world of palm oil under the watchful eye of Hilary and Chelsea Clinton and I’ve travelled to Ghana with The Body Shop to learn about the ethical shea butter industry.

I've had the pleasure of interviewing hundreds of experts, dermatologists, make-up artists, hairdressers, brand founders and celebrities including Dua Lipa, Drew Barrymore, Demi Lovato, One Direction (!), Ella Henderson, Rita Ora and Barbie Ferreira. And, as well as writing, shooting and interviewing, I've spoken on panels for MAC Cosmetics, Burt's Bees, Marks & Spencer and Suqqu and have presented and hosted on stage at Stylist Live.

Formerly beauty editor at Stylist, I’ve also worked at Cosmopolitan and The River Group, creating print, digital and e-commerce content for DARE, Superdrug's bi-monthly magazine.

Since going freelance in September 2020, I have written for British Vogue, Refinery29, Glamour UK, Harrods Magazine, The Independent’s IndyBest and Good Housekeeping amongst others, as well as for numerous brands including MAC Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Beauty Pie, The Body Shop, Medik8, The Inkey List, CeraVe, Maybelline, L’Oreal Paris and Hair Gain, and I’ve hosted social media masterclasses for Clinique and Dr.Jart+.

I’m available for commercial and editorial copywriting, social media campaigns, brand consultancy, and more – please feel free to get in touch for a chat.
